Cancellation Policy
The short version: You can cancel BeSwitchReady at any time, for any reason, with no penalty and no awkward questions. New subscribers also have a 14-day right to cancel and receive a full refund under UK consumer law.
Your 14-day cooling-off right
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your BeSwitchReady subscription within 14 days of signing up, without giving any reason, and receive a full refund.
This 14-day period begins on the day you complete your subscription checkout.
Please note: if you have already requested that we begin setting up your Direct Debit mandates within this 14-day period, you may lose part or all of your right to a refund for the service already delivered. We will clearly explain this before beginning mandate setup.
Cancelling after 14 days
You can cancel your subscription at any time after the cooling-off period. There is no minimum contract term and no early cancellation fee.
When you cancel:
- Your subscription through Stripe will end at the close of your current billing period — you will not be charged again
- Your two GoCardless Direct Debit mandates will be cancelled
- You will receive an email confirmation within 1 working day
- We do not offer refunds for any partial month remaining after cancellation
Important — bank switching bonuses: If you cancel before your bank switching bonus has been confirmed and paid, your switch may be disqualified. Many banks require Direct Debits to remain active throughout the switching period and for a period after. We strongly recommend keeping your subscription active until your bonus is received.
How to cancel
You can cancel by any of the following methods:

Cancel via your bank appGo to your Direct Debits list in your bank app and cancel both "BeSwitchReady Plan A" and "BeSwitchReady Plan B". This cancels your GoCardless mandates immediately. Please also email us so we can cancel your Stripe subscription.

Cancel via Stripe customer portalYou can manage your card subscription through the Stripe customer portal. A link to your portal is included in your subscription confirmation email.
Refund policy
Refunds are available in the following circumstances:
- You cancel within 14 days of first subscribing and have not yet approved your GoCardless mandates — full refund
- You cancel within 14 days and have approved mandates — partial refund at our discretion based on service delivered
- A technical error resulted in a duplicate charge — full refund of the duplicate amount
- We cancel your account for any reason — pro-rata refund for the unused portion of your current billing period
Refunds are not available for partial months where you have chosen to cancel mid-cycle, or where the cancellation is due to change of mind after the 14-day cooling-off period.
Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 working days and returned to the original payment method.
What happens to your data when you cancel
When you cancel, we retain your data for 6 years as required by HMRC for financial record-keeping. After this period, your data is permanently deleted. You may request earlier deletion of non-financial data by emailing hello@beswitchready.co.uk. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Reactivating your account
If you cancel and later want to rejoin, you can resubscribe at any time at beswitchready.co.uk. Your account history will not be preserved, and you will need to go through the Direct Debit setup process again from the beginning.
